AWDTSG shut down. Are the posts about you gone?
Last checked October 3, 2026 · Shield Date is not affiliated with AWDTSG or the Tea App
- Probably not gone. Most groups were paused, and a paused group keeps every post already in it.
- Copies live on. Screenshots, reposts, copycat groups and the Tea App weren’t part of the shutdown.
- This is a good week to act. Find out where you stand, save the evidence, and file removals while things are quiet.
What “shut down” actually did
It stopped new posts in the official groups. It didn’t wipe them. A Facebook group admin can pause a group, which freezes it with everything inside, or delete it, which takes the posts with it. Most of the network was paused.
For the full picture of which groups are still running and what the founder said, see is AWDTSG shut down? Where the groups stand now.
Six places a post about you can still be
| Where | Affected by the shutdown? |
|---|---|
| The original post, in a paused group | No. Still there, still visible to members |
| Screenshots shared in group chats and DMs | No. They never depended on the group |
| Reposts in copycat groups | No. Those groups were never part of the network |
| The Tea App, on the web | No. A separate platform, and busier lately |
| Official groups still running, like Las Vegas | No. Still posting every day |
| A future AWDTSG website | Not launched. Hinted at by the founder |
The awkward part: posts are now spread across more, smaller places than before, and you can’t see inside any of them yourself.
What to do this week
-
Find out if, and where, you are posted
Check the Tea App and the groups covering your area, including the copycats. Guessing wrong in either direction costs you. How to check AWDTSG without joining covers the options.
-
Save what you find
Take a dated screenshot and copy the link of every post. Once a group switches back on or a post is deleted, the link is what you will need.
-
If your photo is in it, file for removal now
A copyright complaint works on any post that is still on Facebook, including in a paused group. Filing now means it is handled before anything switches back on. The free AWDTSG removal guide walks you through it.
-
Check the Tea App too
It runs separately and has its own takedown form. A post there is not affected by anything that happened to the groups. Here is the Tea App guide.
-
Don’t contact the poster or the admins
Replies, messages and public posts about it tend to make a post spread, not disappear.
-
Check again if the groups come back
Groups have been paused and switched back on before, and a web version has been hinted at. A clean result today is not a clean result forever.
What not to do
- Don’t assume it’s over. Paused groups have come back before.
- Be wary of anyone promising to “delete you from AWDTSG”. There is no single place to be deleted from, and no one can guarantee a removal.
Common questions about posts after the shutdown
Not if the group was paused, and most were. Pausing a Facebook group stops new posts but leaves everything already posted in place. Only a deleted group takes its posts with it.
Members of a paused group can still see what is already in it. Screenshots and reposts can also be seen by anyone they were shared with, whatever happened to the original group.
Yes. A post in a paused group still exists, and Facebook can still remove it. Filing now means it is dealt with before the group switches back on.
No. Every screenshot and repost is a separate copy, and each one has to be reported where it sits. If your own photo is in a copy, the copyright route applies to that copy as well.
Posts there would sit outside Facebook, so Facebook’s report and copyright tools would no longer apply. That site’s own rules would. Nothing has launched yet.

Find out where the posts about you are now
Paused groups, live groups, copycats and the Tea App: a person searches the Tea App and the AWDTSG groups covering your region by hand and sends you screenshots, the links, and proof of where we looked. Answered in hours, not days.
