The worst part wasn't the post. It was not knowing.
I didn't know what it said. I didn't know how many people had seen it, or whether the women around me had already read it. I couldn't answer it, couldn't correct it, couldn't even tell how bad it was.
If you're reading this, you probably know that feeling. It's the reason this company exists.
Three days to find out. A week to get it down.
It took me three days of digging to find out exactly what had been written, and where. It was worse than I'd imagined — and I was glad I'd stopped ignoring it.
Then I tried to get them taken down. The Tea App was simple: I sent a takedown request, and the post came down two days later.
The AWDTSG post was harder. Back then I didn't know how to file the report properly, and it went nowhere. What had been written about me wasn't true, so in the end I asked a lawyer for help. She sent one letter, and within about a week of starting, everything was gone.
I've since learned how to do it right, and it's all in our free guides for the Tea App and AWDTSG. No one can promise a removal, but the steps cost nothing, and with them you should be able to get it taken down yourself.
Then the messages started
I shared what happened on Reddit, anonymously, hoping it would help the next guy. Within days my inbox was full of men asking the same thing: can you check for me?
So I did. One at a time, for free, for about two months. I searched the Tea App and whichever AWDTSG group covered their city, and sent back screenshots plus a screen recording of the search itself — so they could see where I'd looked, not just take my word for it.
Not everybody is posted.
A lot of us are convinced we're being posted about when we aren't. Finding out you're not is worth something too.
