- Tea is moving to local communities about safety, life and shared interests.
- We’ll update this page the moment anything changes.
What Tea announced
On October 5, 2026, Tea announced “Tea 2.0” to its members and welcomed iPhone users back. The biggest change was simple: the standalone intel feed is gone.
In its place, Tea says it is bringing women together in local communities, to talk about safety, life and what is happening around them. Members can also set up a profile with an avatar, and start their own communities on anything from reality TV to running.
Tea’s support team confirmed it to members who asked. The Intel Feed “is no longer available.”
Why this is a win for men
For years, the feed held millions of posts about men, with names, photos and opinions, open to any member who searched. A post written about you in 2025 could be found by a new member, a date, or a friend of a friend, years later.
That is over, for now. Here is what changed:
| Before | From October 5 | |
|---|---|---|
| The intel feed | Open to every member | Removed |
| Old posts about men | Searchable by name | Only the writer sees them |
| Looking someone up | A few seconds | Not possible |
| What the app is about | Posts about men | Local communities |
What hasn’t changed
To keep the full picture clear:
- Old posts weren’t deleted. Tea says nothing disappeared. Past posts now sit privately in each writer’s own profile, out of public view.
- Women can still talk about dating safety in communities. It just isn’t a searchable feed about men anymore.
- Screenshots travel on their own. Anything captured before October 5 can still be shared outside the app.
- The AWDTSG groups are a separate thing. Many of them, and their copycats, are still posting every day. Where the AWDTSG groups stand.
What it means for you
As of today, there is no way to search the Tea App for posts about a man. That includes Shield Date. Be careful with any site that still sells a Tea App search: there is nothing left to search. How to spot a fake Tea App search.
We’re watching Tea closely. If the feed comes back, or the posts become visible again, we’ll post an update on this page right away.

Wondering about the Facebook groups? Is AWDTSG shut down? covers where the groups stand right now.
The Tea App went quiet. The groups didn’t.
The AWDTSG groups and their copycats are still posting every day. A person searches the groups covering your region by hand and sends you screenshots, the links, and proof of where we looked. Answered in hours, not days.
